Be Kind Not Nice. It fosters true play and playfulness

The difference between kind and nice is essential to how we play.

Kindness is from deep in the heart. It is vital for our personal well-being when internally directed.

When kindness is extended to another, it is always and only in the best interest of others. It is communicated in a way they care about and how they are being cared for.  It is delivered in a way they appreciate, understand, and accept.

Kindness is not always easy and can sometimes take practice.

On the other hand niceness is often disguised as kindness.  It is polite, self-serving, with a desirable outcome or personal agenda in mind.   It could be as simple as if I’m nice to that individual they will reciprocate in the future.  Being nice is sometimes necessary though it’s not the same as whole-hearted kindness.

Snap out of it (or at least be clear) if you think you are being kind when in fact you are being nice!

Kindness is important to play and playfulness! It ensures play in a way that is enjoyable for all. Win-Win!  It’s just the right thing to do.
