Human Spirit/Life Quality

Can We Get A Hallelujah For The Humorists?

Every day, seriously every day we monitor scholarly articles, the internet, and the popular press on the importance of play and playfulness for adults.

As part of that process we try to rise above the vitriol on the internet and in conversation these days.

As others hunker down for Armageddon we focus on improving wellbeing and ways to support free and open play where adults can enter and leave at will and do no harm.

Every so often gems pop up that shine brightly in support of the core themes: A Positive Outlook, Activities, Relationships, Humor, and Experiencing Life.

During the last few weeks one individual in particular has stood out who understands the value in adults embracing play, playfulness, humor, laughter, experiencing life and spirituality.

Pope Francis, he really gets it!

When one loses the ability to play, and becomes too serious, one loses the meaning of life.”  – Pope Francis/The Vatican News

In other words, adults need play; otherwise, we are doomed to a life without meaning.

“A sense of humor lifts you up, it shows your life is short and to take things in the spirit of a redeemer…It is a human attribute, but it is the closest to God’s grace.”   – Pope Francis/CNN

We were delighted to see him recently host 100 comedians and support the importance of Humor & Laughter in adult life. Check out the video from the event here.

Now, what makes you laugh and how do you play as an adult, and how often?

Play is an action and playfulness is a perspective.  Imagine how they manifest in your daily life. Think about it, sounds like fun.  Right?
